Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock Retreat Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Camping with animals
We recently visited this campsite and found it to be a place truly worth exploring. The journey there took us through winding, undulating mountain roads, with neatly arranged fields along the way, evoking the feel of the French countryside. The entire farm exudes a rustic charm and is equipped with showers and flushing toilets, making it quite convenient. What truly stood out was their excellent service. The staff were warm and attentive. After getting lost in the countryside, we easily contacted Kim, a cheerful girl who walked out to meet us and helped drive our car to the campsite. When we mentioned we hadn’t brought chairs and a table, Kim promptly brought them over for us. We spent an unforgettable night here, chatting around the campfire while the kids got to pet the goats on the farm. This camping experience was incredibly enjoyable, and we highly recommend it to outdoor enthusiasts.

Endroit paumé mais charmant; difficile à trouver, et assez spartiate, malgré un prix passablement élevé pour n’avoir qu’une douche pour tout le camping (!), et des installations très rudimentaires. De plus, peu d’endroits plats pour s’installer.Bref, camping tiers-monde!

Smooth camping
I loved camping in Benjamin’s property The whole concept of free camping was a bit confusing at the beginning since we’re not used to it, but after we were helped by the staff, it was so smooth. We brought our small dogs along with us, too. They had a great time! We forgot to get her name, but the lady on duty on Saturdays was very kind and helpful. Would definitely come back!

Awesome property. I do not recommend trailers unless small trailers. Crew out there was amazing. Loved the roaming livestock.

The wandering livestock, zip line and frog pond were great for kids. Tents good for two.
